East and West in Bloom-Florals and Still Life

I love to paint beautiful vessels filled with florals; blue and white Asian porcelain, cloisonné, European stoneware and heirloom ceramics. Every vase has a history.

“Whispers in Blue and White 1”

Cobalt Blue hand painted on translucent white porcelain and fired in kilns by skilled artisans. Ginger jars filled with roses and tulips going a stoneware teapot with an inviting afternoon tea.

“Whispers in Blue and White 2”

Two ancient Blue and White vases are filled with a multitude of peonies, roses and hydrangeas. A stoneware cup rests on a book waiting to be read.

“The Black Cloisonné Vase”

These are some of my favorite vases that I wanted to paint including the black cloisonné vase from the Meiji period, a beautiful double gourd vase filled with peonies and a tea server with tea cup. Orchids represent hope, the peonies stand for abundance, grace and enduring love. The moon gate opens toward another world of peace and tranquility.

“The Golden Pot” presents a welcoming table adorned with inviting fruits, an old German goblet with red wine and a golden hand painted German pot filled with lovely florals.
